The faculty of the Postgraduate Program in Neuroscience and Cell Biology at the Federal University of Pará (PPGNBC/UFPA) is characterized by its multidisciplinary and multiprofessional composition. The faculty consists of biologists, physicians, biomedical scientists, physiotherapists, pharmacists, a psychologist, a mechanical engineer, a veterinarian, and a dentist. It brings together researchers from different generations, trained at leading institutions in various regions of Brazil, as well as alumni of the Program itself, which fosters integration between academic experience, scientific renewal, and institutional continuity.

Currently, the PPGNBC has 27 faculty members, of which 23 are permanent and four are collaborators. Of this group, 17 are recipients of Research Productivity grants from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), an indicator that highlights the qualification and recognition of the scientific production of the faculty. The team also includes two researchers who participated in the founding of the Program and six alumni who, after entering the teaching career at UFPA, joined the PPGNBC. This composition demonstrates the Program's ability to both preserve its institutional trajectory and memory and to train highly qualified researchers, subsequently incorporating them into its own faculty.

The faculty includes researchers from the Federal University of Pará (based at the Institute of Biological Sciences, the Center for Tropical Medicine, the Institute of Health Sciences, and the Institute of Technology), the Evandro Chagas Institute in the State of Pará, and the University of Alabama in the United States of America.

Faculty members of the Program act as coordinators or members of projects funded by regional and national funding agencies and, in some cases, by international institutions. These projects frequently involve undergraduate and graduate students, contributing to their scientific training and to the integration between different levels of education. All faculty members must participate in the offering of mandatory and elective courses in the Program. In addition to teaching, research, supervision, and extension activities, some faculty members perform administrative and academic management functions, including coordination and vice-coordination of the Program, heads of divisions, institutional directorates, and scientific societies. They also participate in scientific committees, editorial boards, and advisory bodies of funding agencies, which demonstrates their academic and scientific involvement and their contribution to the formulation, evaluation, and management of science, technology, and innovation policies.
