PPGNBC Multi-user Laboratory
The Multi-User Laboratory of the PPGNBC/UFPA (LMPNBC) is a shared space designed to support research, teaching, and outreach activities through the planned use of its infrastructure and equipment. The LMPNBC is open to all students and faculty of the Federal University of Pará, whether or not they are affiliated with the PPGNBC. It is coordinated by Professor Dr. Karen Renata Oliveira of the PPGNBC.

The LMPNBC (Laboratory of Natural and Biomedical Engineering) has equipment such as an ultrapure water system, fume hood, binocular stereomicroscope, fluorescence microscope, gel photodocumentation system, picodrop, cryostat, -80°C vertical ultrafreezer, refrigerated centrifuge, microplate reader and automatic washer, real-time PCR, and an animal behavior analysis room. To organize access to the LMPNBC, the PPGNBC (Postgraduate Program in Natural and Biomedical Engineering) created a web application that allows reservations on available days and times for each piece of equipment. The user manual for the web application can be downloaded here . This solidarity initiative of the PPGNBC opens the possibility for researchers from all over the University to have access to state-of-the-art equipment for their research.
Recognition from society
Professor Cláudio Guedes Salgado was elected to the Pará Academy of Medicine on February 24, 2026.
Neuroscience and Society: Science in Solidarity
On May 30, 2025, at the Tropical Medicine Center of the Federal University of Pará, students from the PPGNBC program, with the support of the program's coordination, organized the event "Neuroscience and Society: Science in Solidarity." It was a full day of lectures for students and community members. Lectures covered topics such as sleep quality, facial recognition, artificial intelligence, genomics, autism, and assistive technologies.
